Spring Bear Viewing

May-June

  • Watch wild bears in stunning, remote terrain.
  • As well as black and grizzly bears we share our trails with moose, elk, wolves, beavers, cougars, bobcat, lynx and many other animals.
  • We head out in tiny groups – typically 2 to 4 guests with an expert guide.
  • Private trails and private viewings. No other operators in the area.
  • We offer wild viewing of wild bears. No staged, managed or scripted experiences. We do not use viewing stands.
  • We are specialists in tracking animals, are on the cutting edge of bear conservation, and politically active in saving bears and their habitat.
  • May is usually the best time for valley-bottom bear-viewing.
  • In early June we head into the sub-alpine to watch bears feeding around the snow line.
  • In late June we can usually access the very highest ridges.
  • This is the month featured in Ben Fogle’s New Lives in the Wild and in the Sunday Times.
  • First-rate cuisine in the main lodge. Your own luxury riverside cabin.
  • Easy access from Banff. A day’s drive from Calgary, Jasper or Vancouver.
  • Private and commercial air transfer if you would rather not drive.
  • Age recommendation: 14-75.

Summer Wilderness Adventures

July – August

  • Four or five-night holidays ideal for couples, friends or families looking to experience true Canadian wilderness.
  • Spectacular hikes in the remote high alpine using our 4x4s for the ascent.
  • White-water and scenic rafting trips on the river that flows past the ranch.
  • We head out in tiny groups – typically 2 to 4 guests with an expert guide.
  • Private trails. No other operators in the area.
  • Barbeque by the river, evening around the campfire.
  • Please note: This is not peak bear-viewing season but does provide for an exceptional wilderness experience.
  • Custom summer holidays for groups wishing to book the whole lodge.
  • Age recommendation 10-75.

Autumn Grizzly Viewing

September-October

  • Four-night grizzly bear viewing holidays in September and October.
  • Watch totally wild grizzly bears in stunning, remote terrain.
  • As well as grizzly bears we have black bears, moose, elk, wolves, beavers, cougars, bobcat, lynx, wolverines and many other animals in our area.
  • We head out in tiny groups – typically 2 to 4 guests with an expert guide.
  • Private trails and private viewings. No other operators in the area.
  • Wild viewing of wild bears, and many other animals. No staged, managed or scripted experiences. We do not use viewing stands.
  • In September we spend one or two days in the high alpine tracking and watching grizzly bears that are feeding on huckleberries.
  • In October we spend one day in the high alpine, snow levels permitting, and two days on our river where grizzly bears come to eat the red salmon.
  • We raft our river where you can expect to see dozens of bald eagles, American dippers, mergansers, kingfishers and, of course, spectacular Kokanee salmon.
