The Grizzly Bear Fund

One of our aims here at the ranch is to nurture and protect the grizzly bears, both in our valley and throughout BC.

We believe that  better education about the causes of human-bear conflict and an end to grizzly bear-hunting will eventually help the grizzly population recover.

All grizzly hunting is trophy hunting and the government allows hunters to kill more than 300 grizzlies a year, even though they are a threatened species according to the government's own website.

We have set up this fund as a way to promote better understanding of bears locally and also to fight the grizzly hunt on a provincial level. Although we are only small, we have recently fought successfully to stop the Ministry of Environment extending the grizzly hunt locally.

All donations to this fund will go towards the prevention of human-bear conflict in the local area or lobbying efforts to stop the grizzly hunt.
